Newhampton Road East. This carefully planned 1.5metre wide advisory lane through the new splitter islands was burnt off on the day it was painted because it confused Wolverhampton motorists.
Pendeford Lane, Wolverhampton passing the Hockey Club is a bridleway. The entrance to Welney Gardens, Pendeford is by the yellow barrier.

Dead end at Coton Road, Goldthorn Hill, Wolverhampton. Cycling around this barrier is popular though prohibited by signs.

Lock 4, Brum Main Canal, NCN81 Wolverhampton. The yellow signs saying cyclists dismount are correct here. Sharp blind bend where the towpath narrows on the apex of the bend. Early bath possible!
Cannock Road bridge, Wolverhampton. Lock 5 of the Brum Main canal NCN81. Best walk down the ramp and under the bridge!
Brum Main Canal NCN 81 at Lock 6 towards Aldersley junction, Take the right fork down into Fowler's Park avoiding two canal bridgeholes, refoining at Fox's Lane.
Fowler's Park, Wolverhampton. Take the right fork and climb back onto the Brum Main canal NCN 81 towards city centre or the path straight on to reach the A460 Cannock Road.
At the end of Fox's Lane bridge, take the Fowlers Park path shown going straight on here (along the course of the lost GWR main line railway) to go towards A460 Cannock Road bridge
Shared use path alongside Ring Road St. David's , Wolverhampton by Broad Street looking towards the rail station multi-storey car park. Ride under the overbridge and take a sharp uphill left turn to get onto Railway Drive
View from Broad Street bridge, Wolverhampton. NCN81 towpath route goes along the left of shot into a tunnel under the station car park and then a deep cutting towards Birmingham. Worth avoiding.
Wolverhampton by entrance to Broad Street Canal depot. Shared use path up to the Toucan crossings across the Ring Road and into Broad Street proper. Railway viaduct is behind the photographer.
Brum Main Canal Lock 11 - NCN81 looking towards Fox's Lane Bridge and Wolverhampton's charming rubbish incinerator. Take the path to the left of the hedge towards Fox's Lane and access Fowler's Park . This avoids two canal bridgeholes.
Cycle PArking at ASDA, off Waterloo Road, Wolverhampton. This store takes a million quid a week and has only a few unloved parking spots for sustainably transported shoppers.
tight gateway on Pendeford Lane. A struggle with a solo bike. Tandems, trikes and trailers can access the Staffs and Worcs canal towpath at nearby Clewley Drive. Right and first left.
